Deaconess Foundation Sponsoring Center for Respite Care’s Relocation and Renovation Project in Over-The-Rhine

$350,000 Grant will fund construction of a Medical Recovery Suite at Center for Respite Care’s relocation project to Over-the-Rhine

Deaconess Associations Foundation is playing a key role in the Center for Respite Care’s (CRC) strategic move from Avondal to Over-the-Rhine. A $350,000 grant to CRC will help the Center realize its goal to increase capacity at its newly planned site near the corner of Liberty and Vine. Projected cost of the total project is nearly $595,000.

“CRC exists to help the most underserved and marginalized portion of our population,” said Tony Woods, Chairman of Deaconess Associations, Inc.  “A medical recovery unit dedicated to the homeless who have had surgery or an extended emergency room visit will now be available to those vulnerable members of our community who previously had no access to medical recovery. Assisting the homeless with basic healthcare needs is a primary focal point for the Deaconess Foundation.”  Target date for completion of the project is July 31, 2017, with occupancy scheduled for early September.

In recognition of this grant, CRC will be awarding the Deaconess Foundation with its Transformation Award this coming October.
