Deaconess Foundation Golf Outing Raises $70,000 for Community Healthcare Initiatives
More than 84 golfers helped raise $70,000 this year at Deaconess Foundation’s 28th annual golf outing held at the Kenwood Country Club.
The Oct. 9 event raised $10,000 more than last year, setting a new fundraising record, said Diane Decker, Deaconess Foundation development director. Funds will support Deaconess community health initiatives and the Deaconess retirement communities of Continental Manor in Blanchester, Ohio; Mason Health Care Center in Mason; and Cottingham Retirement Community in Cincinnati.
Presenting sponsor team Cincinnati Insurance Companies/John J. & Thomas R. Schiff & Co., placed first at the event. Team members were: Steve Davis; Michael Tiemeier; Dan Tiemeier; and Brian Schmittou.
The second-place foursome was from gold sponsor Johnson Investment Counsel. Those golfers were: Mike Hoover; Brandon Zureick; Michael Leisring; and Fred Brink.
Deaconess has provided healthcare services in Cincinnati since 1888. The Deaconess Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Deaconess Associations, Inc., which provides healthcare access and education to the at-risk population.
